Iberá National Park

Posted on

Iberá National Park is a lagoon not far from Corrientes, the village inside the national park only has four telephone lines, no mobile reception, and isn´t on the national grid (although every house has satellite TV). All their electicity is produced using generators. The bus to get there takes up to five hours because the road is so bad. It is well worth the journey though.

The lagoon is home to: caymen (crocs with their jaws wired shut) anaconda, deer, armadillo, falcons, the lagest rodent in the world and so many different species of bird I lost count. It also had the largest population of Mosquitos in the world, I look like a baked bean pizza at the moment.

Next stop, Buenos Aires.
