It’s been a while since I’ve been to Italy, 2009 in fact so it was good to have a change from the usual round of Austria and France for our skiing holidays, admittedly they have been peppered with Georgia and Turkey recently.
Going away at the beginning of January was new for us too. We arrived Sunday afternoon to bright sunshine and almost spring conditions. Sauze is a quite small resort that links to much larger one of Sestriere. I managed to head over there for a couple of days before high winds closed the link. Fortunately, by then it started snowing and we were able to take in the runs on the lower slopes and have fun amongst the trees.
